Abstract

The connexions between phenomenology and the ontological hermeneutics have been deeply drew up. This is reflected in the Gadamerian sentence that states that “hermeneutics, phenomenology and metaphysics are not three different things, but the same philosophizing”. The thinker seeks to account in this way for his phenomenological heritage that is present in different dimensions of his own hermeneutical thought. Despite this, from the phenomenological tradition the weaknesses of the author ́s perspective have been pointed out, precisely mentioning the rough reading that he elaborates of Husser`ls so-called genetic phenomenology. The present study has, finally, a double objective: firstly, it seeks to address the deficiencies and the fortunes of the Gadamerian reading of the Husserlian project and secondly, it addresses the implicit connections given between his own ontological hermeneutics and the genetic phenomenology around the notion of «life-world». As we will see, this entire approach will demarcate a horizon of practical and vital rationality where historicity, the world of life and facticity will be the mainstay.
