Abstract
The aim of the following text is to address the affinities and differences of Schelling’s and Fi-chte’s early thoughts on a philosophy of na-ture. To achieve this end, we show that, for Schelling, the construction of the thought of the real and of the precise nature of mathe-matics, allows not only an a priorideductionof self-consciousness, but also and above all of its opposite pole, nature. Secondly, it shows that Fichte’s transcendental philosophy is de-cisively opposed to any a priori deduction of nature that is not derived from knowledge. We thus outline the position of each thinker and draw some comparisons between them.
